DJ DAVIS
Derrick better known as “DJ” is a 6’2 shooting guard, who’s currently a freshmen at McKinney High School in McKinney, Tx. DJ is an “extroverted introvert”. He comes off as quiet and to himself but once that shell is cracked, he is a force to be reckoned with. His love and passion for basketball is unmatched. His work ethic speaks volumes about his hopes and dreams for the future. Dj is comfortable in his mid range shots and getting to the rim. He works daily on increasing his basketball IQ so that he can make the best decisions on the court. Education is important to DJ and it is displayed by his achievement of being a member of the National Junior Honor Society his 7th and 8th grade year and continues this same path in high school by holding a straight A average.

Q. When did you realize you wanted to play basketball?
A. I’ve known I wanted to play basketball since I was 5 years old.
Q. Who is your inspiration?
A. My mom is my inspiration because she works hard for me to make sure I have the best opportunity to reach my goals.
Q. What challenges have you faced?
A. I have struggled with putting extra pressure on myself to be perfect and with my Confidence, in which both have had a negative impact on my game.
Q. What sets you apart from other players?
A. I am willing to work extra (extra reps, practices, shots, conditioning etc.) in order to reach my goals.
Q. What are your dreams?
A. My dream is to play D1 basketball and make it to the NBA.
Q. What do you want your legacy to look like?
A. I want to make my family proud and be one of the greatest NBA players and individuals that has ever lived.
